The animal enclosure of the town of Greiz is located within the Greiz-Werdauer Wald landscape conservation area.

Covering an area of around 3 hectares, it is home to various, mainly native animal species. These include red deer, the dominant species in the surrounding forests.

The creation of the animal enclosure dates back to 1969. One of its main tasks is to teach children and young people about the natural habits of animals.
