St. Michael Church Rohrborn
St. Michael Church Rohrborn
The nave of St. Michael's Church in the Rohrborn district of Sömmerda was added at the beginning of the 17th century to the tower, which dates back to the 11th or 12th century. This Romanesque tower probably once served as a defensive tower.
The organ was originally built for the church in Maua near Jena, bought by the Rohrborn congregation in 1867 and installed in the church. The organ has 12 stops on one manual and pedal. However, the organ is currently not in working order.
From 1768 to 1772, the famous pedagogue Christian Gotthilf Salzmann was a pastor in Rohrborn.
The congregation of St. Michael's Church is part of the Eisleben-Sömmerda Protestant Church District.
