The Probstmühle in Oberdorla is one of the seven mills that have stood or still stand on the Siebenmühlenbach. The name Probstmühle or Herrenmühle probably dates back to the 11th century, when it was built. At that time the mill belonged to the church monastery and was thus subordinate to the church lord (Probst). The mill, like most mills, was a flour mill. Here, the grain brought by the farmers was ground into flour, semolina and meal.

Today the Probstmühle is no longer in operation. It was purchased in 2006 by the former municipality of Oberdorla and lavishly restored so that it could still grind grain today. Today, the mill serves as a technical monument and is used as a sight. Since 2013, regular marriages take place in the Probstmühle.
