The former Blobachsmühle was built in 1313 and was located next to the Äußere Frauentor. It was initially used as a grinding mill. It was then used as a wool spinning mill and finally as a mechanical knitting mill (1898). The building had to be demolished due to a fire in 1983. It was rebuilt as a brick building with apartments (Johannisstr. 18 / Blobach 1). If you take a closer look at the building, you can see a symbolic mill wheel on the façade.
