Wilhelmsthal Castle and Park are located eight kilometers south of Eisenach in the Elte valley. At the beginning of the 18th century, the Elte stream was dammed to form a lake, which is still a central feature of the gardens today. The landscape park from the late 18th century was redesigned by Prince Hermann von Pückler-Muskau and Hermann Jäger.
