The museum is the oldest specialized museum for glass in Germany. The unique and important collection of glass products from Lauscha and the Thuringian Forest is presented in a modern, comprehensive and barrier-free way. Visitors can expect a contemporary presentation of exquisite glass objects: Thuringian glass from the late Middle Ages to the present day - forest glass, courtly and bourgeois ceremonial vessels, Christmas tree decorations, collectors' figurines, glass eyes, handicrafts and contemporary glass art. The exhibition is enriched by an enormous variety of objects in the show depot. A visit to the Museum of Glass Art is enchanting.
