Located to the east of Friedenstein Palace, the orangery is one of the largest and most beautiful Baroque orangery complexes in the German-speaking world. Work began on its construction in 1747, following the French model. In the coming years, the impressive complex is to regain its former reputation as "one of the most outstanding of its kind in Germany". The orangery is open all year round.
