Ellrich forest pool
Ellrich forest pool
The Ellrich forest pool is located on the outskirts of the town in the direction of the town forest. The natural pool is fed by the Limbach ponds. The pool was extensively renovated in 1995/96, for which the unified municipality of Ellrich received considerable funding from the Thuringian Ministry of Economics. After extensive reconstruction work, the Ellrich outdoor pool was reopened in June 1996.
Visitors can expect a natural pool with a 540 m² non-swimmers' pool, a 350 m² swimming pool and a 600 m² competition area. There is also the recreation area of the old forest pool. A diving tower and a large water slide for the little ones are available for special water fun. The diving boards and water slide were renewed and renovated in 2021.
The Ellrich Waldbad e.V. support association has been committed to the beautiful natural pool for years. As a result, together with the town, it was awarded the Nature Park Prize in 2007 by the Regionalverband Harz e.V. based in Quedlingburg on the subject of "FREIBÄDER UND NATURBADESTELLEN". The successful integration of the baths and leisure facilities into the natural environment was the decisive factor in the jury's decision.
