The topographically highest point in the Zeulenroda region - the "Schöne Höhe" - is an exposed location steeped in history from which you can experience our beautiful East Thuringian landscape.

In 1790, Prince Heinrich XLII. Reuß Jüngere Linie Schleiz chose the "Schöne Höhe" site to build his "Lusthaus". This was the starting point for a further 4 towers, which since then have shaped this highest elevation in the region in an eventful history. Today, a steel construction with 3 platform levels and a viewing platform stands here at a height of 32 meters above the ground. The tower thus towers above the forest to the south of the site and provides a fantastic 360° panoramic view. Legend has it that the Völkerschlachtdenkmal in Leipzig can be seen on a clear day. The tower can be reached via a circular hiking trail between Zeulenroda-Triebes and the neighboring municipality of Langenwolschendorf. A history trail provides insights into events of the last 200 years and benches along the way invite you to linger.
