Heyerode upper mill
Heyerode upper mill
The upper mill in Heyerode is a water mill with a grinder, which is fed by the water of the Lempersbach. The water wheel is upper-bladed with elevated channel. The huge mill wheel can still be seen, the milling machines are completely preserved but not functional. The mill, first mentioned in a document in 1548, is located in a closed building complex with a farmyard and a mill pond. Close to the mill there are two old lime trees, which are about 200 years old and are under nature protection. The farmstead is idyllically situated and has been in family ownership since 1650.
