Anger Oberdorla
Anger Oberdorla
The largest village green in Thuringia, covering half a hectare, is located in Oberdorla. It is planted with lime and chestnut trees and is home to three monuments. The old court table is still fully preserved and was used to hold court six times a year. All male inhabitants of the Vogde villages had to attend. To the right of the table is the memorial to the fallen soldiers from Oberdorla who died in the Franco-Prussian War of 1870/71. The monument to the left of the table, dating from 1886, commemorates the Vogteier's trip to Vienna in the summer of 1785-1786 to personally hand over a petition to Emperor Joseph II to settle the territorial question of the bailiwick.
