Laurentius Church
Laurentius Church
In 1513 the foundation stone of our present church was laid. It had a different tower than today. In December 1634 the tower with the chancel was destroyed. A year later our ancestors started the reconstruction of the destroyed church, which was carried out in stages. In 1652/53 the chancel and the tower were renewed. In 1666 the church received a new organ. In 1705 the interior of the church had to be renovated. In this context, galleries were built into the church. At the beginning of the 19th century another renovation was necessary. The newest work of art in our church is the mural by Ludwig Tress. It was painted in 1958 and shows St. Lawrence, to whom our church is dedicated.
But the Laurentiuskirche is not just a building made of wood, glass and stone. Everything offered within its walls serves a single purpose: namely, that people find their way into a living and saving faith relationship with Jesus Christ.
