Ev. Christuskirche Bischofsheim i.d.Rhön

The foundation stone of the Lutheran church was laid in 1902, its consecration one year later. She is in the classicist Style built. The name "Christuskirche - House of living stones" was not given until 100 years later.

Interesting facts from religious history: While Bischofsheim had become almost completely Protestant at the time of the Reformation, the relationship was reversed in the late 16th and early 17th centuries with the great counter-reformer Julius Echter. Today, Bischofsheim is not only home to the catholic and the Protestantbut also a Russian Orthodox and a Evangelical Free Church parish.
