Apartment Oskar Schlemmer
Oskar Schlemmer followed Walter Gropius' call to the State Bauhaus in Weimar in 1920. The painter, graphic artist, sculptor, stage designer and choreographer initially lived in one of the Kavaliershäuser at Belvedere Palace. He later moved with his wife and three children to the private house in Prellerstraße. As a master of form, Schlemmer was in charge of the mural painting, stone and wood sculpture departments and also taught nude drawing. His Triadic Ballet premiered in 1923. Schlemmer further developed the "dancer-man" with costume and mask into an artistic figure. It combines dance, costume and music.
