The Point Alpha memorial is located on the Hesse-Thuringia border between Rasdorf and Geisa. Along the former death strip, the originally preserved US camp "OP Alpha", the "House on the Border" and the reconstructed border fortifications are reminders of the division of Germany and the horrors of the Cold War. The outposts of NATO and the Warsaw Pact stood face to face here for over four decades. The entire complex is an incomparable "learning site of history".
