The Altenburg Island Zoo is a small paradise with great appeal. Located in the heart of Skatstadt and surrounded by a large pond, the idyllic island invites visitors to discover it every day.

The zoo is home to over 400 animals of around 80 species. These include exotic fish, reptiles, monkeys, meerkats, some bird species and various hoofed animals.

Visitors have the opportunity to experience animals up close in the petting enclosure, where they can meet dwarf goats at eye level.

In recent years, we have succeeded in creating an educational adventure trail that teaches visitors of all ages about the diversity of nature in a fun way.

In addition, a small playground and ample seating invite you to linger.
