Schössersmühle
Schössersmühle
The Schössersmühle is somewhat hidden at the edge of the forest, away from the road in the Eisenberger Mühltal. It is one of the smaller mills in the Mühltal. The mill already existed before 1285 and its name goes back to one of its former owners, who held the office of Schösser, i.e. tax collector in the ducal service.
While the other mills were converted to restaurants and excursions at the beginning of the 20th century, the Schössersmühle remained in operation. In 1954, it was taken over by a new owner and set up as a children's holiday camp and forest café.
The vacation camp was abandoned at the beginning of the 1990s. The Schössersmühle had many owners in the years that followed. The mill was completely renovated and converted in 2018. It is currently not used as a guesthouse or restaurant.
