Heimatscheune Rositz
Heimatscheune Rositz
Where better to show the everyday life of great-grandma's time than in an old stable building on a traditional four-sided farm?
The Rositzer Heimatscheune was set up in the former stable building of Julius Starke's four-sided farm. Hugo Starke, Julius Starke's son, sold the farm in 1914 to his immediate neighbor Oskar Pohle, who thus became the owner of a four-sided farm complex.
To prevent the threat of demolition, the owner Isolde Voigt, Oskar Pohle's granddaughter, transferred the former stable building to the municipality of Rositz for a symbolic euro in 2002.
In February and March 2005, the gutting work began and in September of the same year, the complete renovation began. After a one-year construction period, the members of the Rositzer Heimatverein e. V. and residents of the municipality of Rositz were given the opportunity to submit proposals for the effective use of the building in the interests of preserving Rositz's traditions.
On Open Monument Day 2007, the Rositz Heritage Society was able to present its new permanent exhibition "Everyday life as it was in our grandmother's day" in the Heimatscheune. This exhibition was very well received and continues to be supplemented and expanded by numerous donations and loans. Changing special exhibitions are also presented here every year, while the Heimatscheune is decorated according to the seasons.
On 22.7.2023, 20.8.2023 and on request, the local history museum will open its doors for you from 14:00 to 17:00.
