Tower of the city wall
Tower of the city wall
The tower, which only remains in ruins today, was built in 1413 when the old city wall from the 12th century was extended. In 1665, it was shortened in height and incorporated into the Petersberg Citadel, which was just being built, as "Powder Tower 2". When the road was built around 1900, the tower was largely demolished. In 2001/02, the remains of the building were secured and supplemented with gabions.
