Altkirchen Village Museum
Altkirchen Village Museum
In five exhibition rooms, our agricultural history museum displays tools, everyday items, household goods, tillage implements, weapons and, last but not least, the Altenburg peasant costume.
All this gives an impression of how arduous, but also exciting, life was for the ancestors of today's inhabitants.
Focus of the collection:
-
Early and regional history with illustrated panels and many exhibits - Altenburg bridal costume - nature cabinet with insights into the flora and fauna of the surrounding area - polished drill cores and Göllnitz miracle tree - special exhibition of children's toys and photographs to paintings
-
Historical agricultural equipment in the outdoor area
-
Changing exhibitions on a wide variety of topics complement the museum's presentation. Even a nature cabinet contains rarities. Drill cores from various geological layers provide an insight into the geological history of this region.
On 09.07.2023 and 27.08.2023 and on request, the local history museum will open its doors for you from 10:00 to 17:00.
