The "Bielener Kiesgewässer" consists of a former gravel lake in the south-east of the town of Nordhausen and south of the district of Bielen. The long natural beach is bordered by a well-tended sunbathing lawn and offers several playing fields for volleyball and other sports. There is also a youth campsite.
