Church of St. John Rudisleben
Church of St. John Rudisleben
After a devastating fire, the foundation stone for the new Rudisleben church was laid on April 19, 1731. The beautiful altar made of Seeberg sandstone shows the year 1732, when the church was consecrated in the name of the fourth evangelist, St. John.
The organ was built in 1875 by the Adam Eifert company from Stadtilm. It is a mechanical slider chest organ.
The church lost its three historic bells during the two world wars. At Thanksgiving 2020, a new, wonderful triple chime was inaugurated in a festive service. Since then, the bells have been ringing out again from the ridge turret, as originally planned.
