Luitpoldbad Bad Kissingen
Luitpoldbad Bad Kissingen
The Luitpoldbad in Bad Kissingen was once the largest bathhouse in Europe. It was built in 1871 and had 120 bathing cabins, later even up to 236 bathing cabins. Guests could relax here in mud and mineral baths.
After the bathhouse was closed in the 1970s, it was extensively renovated and has served as a modern government center since 2017. The symbiosis of historical architecture and state-of-the-art technology fascinates visitors and locals alike. The "green staircase" is particularly outstanding. This still has the original stairs and railings of the old bathhouse. In the adjoining baths exhibition, you can get an idea of what bathing treatments used to look like. The inner courtyard of the Luitpoldbad is also popular and is used for concerts, festivals and various open-air events in summer.
