Climbing rock Falkenstein

It is not without reason that the Falkenstein in the Schmalwassergrund is also known as "King Porphyry". The 98-metre-high, free-standing rock dome is one of Germany's highest non-alpine climbing rocks. Over 160 routes from difficulty level 3 to 10+ turn the Falkenstein into a huge playground. The classic multi-pitch routes on the west face in particular are hard to beat in terms of beauty and difficulty. For those who like it a little more leisurely, the Falkensteiner Riss 5 or Hangelwest 6 is highly recommended. The routes offer elegant and enduring wall climbs Direct west wall 7, West Ligth 8- and Central west wall 8 and are among the best routes in the state. The Mountain path 10 or the boulder-heavy but exposed route Diretissima 10+. All in all, Falkenstein offers both adventure and sport.
