Greiz Upper Castle Museum
Greiz Upper Castle Museum
Since November 2010, the south wing of the castle has housed the museum on four floors with the permanent exhibition "From the Land of the Bailiffs to the Principality of Reuss Older Line" (with 3D film). The special feature of the museum is the combination of the unique architectural history of the 12th to 19th centuries with interactive, tangible history - "a museum you can touch and participate in". You can determine the weight of a knight's helmet, illuminate the model of the medieval castle complex or let the "Heinrichs" speak. The elevator takes you on a journey through the centuries. On a skateboard you travel through the building history of the Upper Castle. Admire the Romanesque double chapel and immerse yourself in the world of the Reussians during the 3D film "The Glory and Splendor of the Reussians". Experience Reussian and Greiz history - in a whole new way. At Greiz Upper Castle, history is not gray and boring, but a great experience.
