The former Anrode monastery complex is a registered cultural monument. Extensive restoration work is being carried out in cooperation between the Anrode municipal administration, the German Foundation for Monument Protection, the Thuringian State Office for Monument Preservation and the Lower Monument Protection Authority. Part of the restored stables now houses a museum for old craft traditions.

Every second Saturday of the month from April to October, an animal and farmers' market is held in the upper area of the monastery grounds, which is now known far beyond the boundaries of the municipality.
