The Auma dam is located near the town of Weida and was once used for flood protection and power generation. Today it is a popular leisure and excursion destination.

The service water reservoir is also used for leisure and recreation. There is a circular route around the Auma dam and the surrounding area is partly designated as a nature reserve. A beautiful sunbathing lawn is ideal for sunbathing, swimming, rowing, pedal boating and fishing. There is an idyllic natural campsite to the west of the Auma dam.
