On September 17, 2005, the Menantes Literary Memorial was officially opened in the presence of the Thuringian Minister President, the incumbent District Administrator of the Gotha district and other distinguished guests and sponsors.
This exhibition was conceived and designed by the writer, film and exhibition maker Dr. Jens-Fietje Dwars and the graphic artist and designer Bernd Adam.

From May to Thanksgiving, the memorial is open regularly at weekends from 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm. Visits are also possible on all other days by prior arrangement. If you are interested, please register by e-mail or by telephone on 036202/90595 at least 2 days in advance.

A catalog has also been published by quartus-Verlag to accompany the exhibition: "Life and work of the formerly famous Christian Friedrich Hunold alias Menantes. With many pictures and a selection of his most praiseworthy deeds brought to light by Jens-Fietje Dwars".
