The three-winged castle has stood on the castle hill of the idyllically situated Breitungen for almost 500 years. A visit to the Breitungen Renaissance castle not only offers insights into the history and architecture of the former monastery, but also the charm of a living castle with many guests and events. Not all areas of the castle have been renovated yet, but the wing with the Werra view has been completed as a hostel, offering plenty of space and wonderful views of the Werra, Thuringian Forest and Rhön. Concerts and parties can be held in the 300 square meter ballroom. The café serves delicious homemade cakes.
