Mareile Bank

This seating group on the Rennstieg was erected by members of the Rennsteigverein 1896 e.V. Ortsgruppe Hainich-Rennstieg and inaugurated on 18.03.1995 in honor of hiking friend Jutta Müller. Jutta Müller was a well-known hiker from Langula. Born in Oppershausen in 1905, she rendered outstanding services to the hiking movement in the Vogtei and Hainich regions. She became a member of the Rennsteigverein in 1935 and took part in the ski race from Hörschel to Blankenstein in the same year. This earned her the race name (hiking name) "Ski-Mareile". Jutta Müller hiked the Rennstieg in Hainich several times, organized this tour in 1937, took part in a "Runst" on the Rennsteig several times and was also one of the first hiking groups to complete the route from Inselsberg to the Rhine (Rheinrunst - approx. 300 km) in just 10 days.

She married Kurt Kleinschmidt in 1938 and died in 1965 as a result of a traffic accident.
