Europa-Rosarium
Europa-Rosarium
If a rose is considered the "queen of flowers" - then how many celebrities are united in the Europa-Rosarium with over 8,700 rose varieties!
The Europa-Rosarium in the mountain and rose town of Sangerhausen in the southern Harz region was founded in 1903 and is now home to 8,700 rose varieties and species. The development of the plant over the centuries is presented in the 13-hectare rose park. The flowering of the 500 or so different wild rose species begins as early as May. The highlight of the play of fragrance and color is the magnificent blooming of the park roses and the climbing rose pyramids and columns in June and July. The modern bedding and shrub roses bloom until late fall against the magnificent backdrop of 300 different tree and shrub species. Rose attractions such as the "Green Rose" and the "Black Rose", various moss roses, the real oil rose, the smallest roses in the world or roses from Goethe's garden and many other rarities can be admired.
