The soundscape on Herderplatz is dominated by the clattering of horses' hooves on the historic pavement, the ringing of church bells and loud laughter: There, children and adults can jump into happiness on a small pedal fountain with a surprise fountain. The square is flanked by the UNESCO World Heritage Site "Classical Weimar": the town church of St. Peter and Paul with the world-famous Cranach Altar, the Herder Monument, the Old Grammar School and Johann Gottfried Herder's former home.
