Knight's cross
Knight's cross
The Ritter cross is located on the connecting path from Kammerforst to Mihla. The almost meter-high monument is almost overgrown in summer and easy to overlook. It is a memorial stone in the form of a square limestone block. However, it was not a knight who was slain here, but a forestry worker named Ludwig Ritter. As can be seen from the inscription, this happened on November 14, 1862 when he was struck by a tree. The site of the accident was originally 100 m further north on a steep slope. The monument was moved to its current location in 1934 when the road was built.
