Listening Station Bach Organ Eisenach (Frauenplan)
Listening Station Bach Organ Eisenach (Frauenplan)
Interactive experience station where the sounds of the world-famous composer can be experienced in a playful way.
At the Frauenplan, opposite the Bach House is one of three Bach organs in Eisenach that invite visitors to listen to original Bach works. Visitors become active as "bellows pedal players" and generate electricity themselves by stepping on the "organ pedal", which produces music. The modules are accessible free of charge. There is also information about the life and work of the composer.
As part of the Thuringian project Discover Bach in Thuringia in 2019 at a total of 12 locations in Eisenach, Altenburg, Mulhouse, Ohrdruf, Wechmar and Weimar the "Bach organs" are set up as audio modules. The aim of the project is to give visitors to Bach locations an understanding of Bach's music through multimedia. Festival directors, church musicians and volunteer Bach enthusiasts from all Thuringian Bach locations have worked together to achieve this.
The other two locations of the Bach organs are in Eisenach at the George Church on the market and at the Pregiger Church.
