Mühlhausen Lion" monument
1,313 Mühlhäuser soldiers fell on the front lines of the First World War between 1914 and 1918. The war memorial on the town hill was erected in their memory. The foundation stone was laid on October 27, 1926 and the inauguration took place on June 5, 1928. A book of heroes with the names of the dead was embedded in the keystone. The memorial has been built from experience
Its significance has changed in recent times. On Remembrance Day, the citizens here commemorate all victims of violence and war from all nations.
From the upper platform, topped by a stone lion, visitors have a beautiful view of the medieval imperial city of Mühlhausen and the surrounding countryside.
