St. Anne's Chapel in the House of the Church
St. Anne's Chapel in the House of the Church
The Chapel of St. Anne is located in today's Haus der Kirche. The former Teutonic Order commandery in the lower town is located near the Divi Blasii church. The present building was given its shape in 1715/16, but includes much older components. This includes the Annenkapelle chapel (1290) with its beautiful ribbed vault. Despite its already deep location (due to medieval filling), there are even older cellars beneath the chapel. In 1961, excavation work even uncovered a medieval water supply system and a stone oven with hot air heating.
Today, the chapel is used for devotions and as part of events at the Haus der Kirche.
