Milda
Milda
Milda is a municipality in the south-west of the Saale-Holzland district and part of the Südliches Saaletal administrative community. The municipality of Milda includes Zimmritz, Dürrengleina, Kleinkröbitz and Großkröbitz, Rodias and Plinz.
Milda is located in the middle Saale valley on a plateau and yet in a hollow in the romantic Leutragraben. Mentioned as early as 1070 as "Immelden", the village is possibly of Slavic or Sorbian origin and was laid out as a so-called "Rundling" with only one entrance between the church and rectory. The church was built as a fortified church and the churchyard was surrounded by a one-meter-thick wall with corner towers and embrasures. A large part of this fortification is still preserved today and tells interesting stories from past centuries.
Lovingly furnished private accommodation in Milda invites you to spend wonderful country vacations and relax in the Saale valley, close to important traffic routes and yet in the tranquillity of nature.
