The district of Mihla is located on the middle reaches of the Werra and in the Lauter valley, directly on the southern slope of the Hainich, near the national park of the same name. The village can look back on a history of over 1200 years. Numerous monuments bear witness to this. There are plenty of hiking trails around Mihla. Particularly attractive is the close proximity of the Werra with its floodplains and through valleys on the one hand and the wooded Hainich mountain range, which slopes steeply down to the Werra, on the other. In the area of tension between the gentle Rennstieg high trail and the river's dinghy routes, there are cliffs, bulrushes, views, orchid meadows, weirs, slopes that can be climbed, lush green valleys, open heights and sparse beech forest. In addition to the hiking trails on the scale from leisurely to family-friendly to challenging, there are also opportunities for individual routes for lovers of tranquillity and untouched nature. Active recreation is also possible in the renovated outdoor pool.
