Get to know the clothing of our ancestors on a tour. The focus is on traditional costumes from the area surrounding the Hainich National Park. Learn about the origins of the term "traditional costume", find out how many layers of clothing a peasant woman wore and the significance of the colors and fabrics. You can also practise your weaving skills on an original 19th century hand loom or learn about the processing of flax. An introduction to the history of the Hainich and the municipality of Mülverstedt is also included. Take a break from the tour in the integrated café. It offers coffee and cake, ice cream and small hearty snacks.
