Werdigeshäuser church
Werdigeshäuser church
The deserted village of Werdigeshausen is now part of the district of Kefferhausen - a village in the town of Dingelstädt in the Eichsfeld district. The Werdigeshausen church (popularly known as the "New Church") is the last witness to this former settlement. The small church is idyllically situated in the middle of large lime trees and invites you to rest and relax. The church was built around 1750 on the foundations of the old St. Cyriacus church in the former village of Werdigeshausen by the important Eichsfeld Baroque architect Johann Christoph Heinemann. The small baroque altar depicts St. Cyriacus. The church was consecrated in his honor. Twice a year, on Trinity Sunday and on the first weekend in August, masses are still traditionally celebrated here.
