The BUGA park "Neue Landschaft Ronneburg" attracted thousands of visitors in 2007.

The transformation from a mining landscape to a landscape park was a magnet for insiders and the curious. Tourist attractions include Dragon tail bridge, discovery tower, exhibitions, Climate experience trailThemed playgrounds, miniature winding towers, an event area and the Schmirchauer Höhe with an accessible map. With the accompanying project "Paths into the New Landscape", the region has a network of high-quality, attractive Cycling and hiking trails, including the "Thüringer Städtekette" long-distance cycle path.
