Monastery garden of the Kornmarktkirche
Monastery garden of the Kornmarktkirche
The former monastery church of St. Crucis now houses an exhibition that provides information about the course, highlights and aftermath of the German Peasants' War in the context of the time. The monastery garden, a green gem in the middle of the old town, is an insider tip.
The monastery garden was designed according to the ideas of the medieval scholar Albertus Magnus. He transformed the kitchen garden into a "pleasure garden", where not only herbs but also plants that served to stimulate all the senses were at home. This concept and the importance of plants are presented during regular guided tours through the monastery garden in the area of the former cloister of the Kornmarktkirche.
