The Literature Museum "Theodor Storm has been located in one of the oldest houses in the city since its opening in 1988, the Mainzer Haus, built in 1436 in the Franconian half-timbered style.

The permanent exhibition presents the life and artistic work of Theodor Storm between 1856 and 1864 in six rooms. A further room commemorates Heinrich Heine's baptism in Heiligenstadt on 28.06.1825.

Changing special exhibitions complement the ongoing program of events.
