Noah's sail viewing platform

In the heart of the UNESCO Rhön Biosphere Reserve is the "Noah's Sail" viewing platform on the 814-metre-high Ellenbogen mountain near Oberweid. The Ellenbogen is the highest mountain in the Thuringian Rhön. The 21-metre-high tower has nine floors and 84 steps. The climb is rewarded with an incomparable panoramic view of the Land of the Open Faraway, across the entire Rhön as far as Bavaria and Hesse.

All brave guests can "ride" back down to earth from a height of 12 meters via an adventure slide. Landing is in the exhibition building. Here you will find lots of interesting facts about the geology, history, fauna and flora of the Rhön. The exhibition building is also a popular resting place for hikers.
