Viewing platform "Hainichblick
The 20 m high observation tower documents the impressive transformation of nature in the southern Hainich. Information boards draw attention to animals and explain the landscape. The tower offers magnificent views - of the newly planted forest strip of the wildcat rescue network from Hainich across the Hörselberge mountains to the Thuringian Forest, the Werra mountains, the Rhön and Eisenach with the UNESCO World Heritage Site Wartburg Castle.
At the foot of the tower, which was built in 2011, you can get an idea of the dynamics of nature here with the help of photo documentation. On the tower and in the refuge at ground level, you will find a wealth of information about the landscape, various animals and the "wildcat rescue network".
High up from the viewing platform you not only have a fantastic panorama; the view to the south also sharpens the eye for the protection of wildcats and co. See the landscape through the eyes of the wildcat and follow the only safe route to the south - the corridor between the Hainich and the Thuringian Forest.
Eisenach extends to the southwest with the Wartburg Castle UNESCO World Heritage Site. There is no other place in the national park where you can experience the connection between the "Wartburg Hainich World Heritage Region", the combination of culture and nature, more intensively than here!
