This pretty half-timbered house is not only one of the five oldest in the whole of Thuringia, but also holds the title of being the "oldest half-timbered house in Schmalkalden". The house has undergone numerous structural changes over the centuries without losing its late medieval character. Since August 2013, after extensive renovation work, the town of Schmalkalden has been proud to present today's half-timbered house to the public. Discover: vaulted cellars, living rooms, staircases, crawl space, façade, wall and wall structures, front and rear courtyard designs as well as the connection between historical and new architecture.
