Museum village Tann (Rhön)

How did the Rhön people live in former times without computers, TV or cell phones? Which animals can you still discover in the Rhön or what did the animal world look like in the last ice age? You can learn about these and other exciting topics in the open-air museum Rhöner Museumsdorf and in the nature museum!

A Rhön village - in the middle of the city

History at your fingertips

That is to say: actually the village is a hamlet, because so far it consists of three estates. The open-air museum Rhöner Museumsdorf, furnished with great attention to detail, preserves local tradition and architecture, and the spacious three-sided farm, the smaller two-sided farm and the poor cottager's estate vividly show the way of life of our Rhön (great-)great-grandparents 200 to 250 years ago.
