The hut, located between Schlossberg and Knöpfelsberg, can look back on a history of well over 400 years. Woodcutters named Scherer built a shell hut on this site, which was first mentioned in a document in 1586. This gave the hut its name. Over the decades, the owners changed several times and expanded the hut accordingly. After extensive renovation, the Scherer's Hut was reopened by the new owners in 1996.
