Founded on October 1, 1991, the university is one of Thuringia's top-performing teaching and research institutions. The university offers over 30 Bachelor's and Master's degree courses in 6 faculties with 13 different subject areas. The wide range of subjects covers the areas of man, nature, space and technology.
At three locations in Erfurt, students receive a varied, effective and well-structured course of study, which enables them to enter professional practice quickly and at the same time creates opportunities for further academic education.
