The 548-metre high Glasberg is located in the Thuringian Vorderrhön near the villages of Friedelshausen, Oepfershausen and Hümpfertshausen. 

The Rudolf Baumbach Hut is located at the foot of the Glasberg. From the bare summit, you can see across the landscape to the mountain ranges of the Thuringian Forest. The mountain is also a popular hang-gliding and paragliding area. 

The mountain is located on the premium hiking trail Extra tour "Vorderrhönweg".
